Ok, If you had the opportunity to be included in colonising another planet, would you up sticks and leave,or would the immensity of the journey ect scare the bejeebers out of you...personally I'd stay, the thought of being depressed millions of miles from home is too awful.
I would stay. For one thing, you are taking a chance flying thru space, and I'm scared of what could possibly happen on the way to and from. Also, I couldn't leave my family, if not to live permanently in another state or country, certainly not to live in another planet!

but think of it despite my initial hesitation it's a once in a lifetime chance ..and who's to say your family couldn't go with you, the more bods the better...
I don't know. They might, but I doubt it. I know their most likely answer would be no, and that's just because I know they would say that. Plus, I'd miss this planet too much. It might be interesting just to see what it's like, but I doubt I'd want to permenantly live there. *smiles*

That's understandable once your body had acclimatised to the atmoshperic conditions, you would probably be unable to exist permanately on earth...smile..
Tempting... How often would the chance of a completely new frontier come along? Actually, I think we have a lot more to focus on on this planet before we start colonising others, and space travel has never really excited me. Of course, if I had some skill that would be needed, and could actually contribute something... I'd be very, very tempted.
You would not believe the amount of M class planets those resembling earth,in atmosphere, terrain, or the existence of water....there have already been discovered and new suns are being located all the time. Its simply a question of money, logistics and having the balls to boldly go where no one has gone before..sorry coudn't resist that..smile
